This flexible wax plugs holes in the sole of the hoof, preventing the damage that can be caused if grit, mud and stones enter the cavity causing injury or other problems. The wax also has a disinfecting action and, because it forms a barrier to the outside environment, it will prevent bacteria from being able to track up into the hoof where the horse's health and well-being could be compromised.
